cutting out coffee, then drinking it again...

So I stopped drinking coffee this week. I know, I was shocked too! But I needed a break - I was up to somewhere around 4 or 5 per day and I was starting to get a slightly caffeine-wired, twitchy thing happening. The idea was to clear the old system out, and then reintroduce just one per day. So I cut the caps, and after the initial withdrawal headaches, I felt great! Much more relaxed - but man, was I looking forward to a coffee with breakfast this morning!

Behold, the beauty of a large cappuccino!

Oh how I missed you! I vow to try my darndest to stick to one-a-day from now on....

V's breakfast...

A big bowl of granola and fruit with yoghurt for me

I confess, I have been kind of living in this jumper lately...

I can't help it, its just so cosy! I'm just loving every moment of this cooler weather

Sportsgirl dress
Lover jumper
Cotton On sunglasses
Country Road woolen tights
Rivers boots
Jag leather satchel with Supre scarf

Hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing weekend!

  2. Coffee is SO dangerous, I try to keep my cup-per-day to 1, it does creep up to two though. Good luck!!! But don't be too hard on yourself if you have days where you blow out ;)

  3. Ahhh. I love coffee, but it makes me hyperactive. I used to drink it every day but now I try to just have it when I am out at a cafe, but I still find it irresistible and regularly fall back to drinking several a day.

  4. I feel the same way about red bull unfortunately. If I start having the occasional one, before I know it I am back to needing one t oget me started in the morning...then I have to cut it out and go cold turkey again:)

  5. 4-5 coffees a day?! This week I have gone from being a one-latte-a-week girl to a one-latte-a-day girl and I've felt guilty about that haha! Good luck sticking to it. I'm going to continue enjoying a coffee everyday... :) it's just so delicious!

  6. How's this? I haven't had coffee since the beginning of January. Not that I was a big drinker (2-3 a week) but I woke up one morning and wondered if I really needed it. So I stopped. Turns out I didn't need it. Now tea - I think I have an addiction to tea...

I do think if you go without it for a while you develop a new appreciation for it. Either that or you realise you just don't need it!

  7. That looks like such a snuggly comfy warm jumper! No wonder you're living in it hahaha

I don't drink coffee, but I love the flavours of iced coffee, coffee scrolls, coffee chocolate etc. And right now, with this cold cold weather in Melbourne, I'm craving a coffee.

  9. I love your blog!
I used to be the biggest coffee addict when I was back home. The coffee over here is to terrible that I was almost forced to give it up. I feel much better for it now and just stick to green tea when I need a caffeine hit. This may change when I come back to Sydney though!

  10. How goes the coffee cut-down? I used to drink a few cups a day too, and I did a coffee detox not long before Christmas. Ever since then I have been happy with a cup a day (sometimes one every two days) and honestly, more than that really starts to wreak havoc with my tummy. It's weird, because before I almost had an IV of coffee with no problem...

  12. Great job, lady! That's a tough habit to kick. The shakes are always a good sign of perhaps having a bit much!! One a day sounds great. I limit myself to one coffee on Saturday & Sunday, mainly as I'm trying to save money for travel. Coffee is one of the things I give up, along with magazines :( I can imagine how good that first cup must have been!
