jasper's latest trick...

For Jasper, life revolves around food. When is his next meal, who is walking in the general vicinity of the kitchen, who is eating something at the table and NOT SHARING IT WITH HIM !!!! At the end of the evening, before we go to bed, we will usually give both cats something to eat, to try and lessen the chances of them waking us at 3am for breakfast (hah! like that works!)

Clearly V and I are creatures of habit, because Jasper, clever little fluff-ball that he is, has learned a new trick involving the tv** ...

Its almost Pavlovian! I was very impressed the first time he did it. Now I just like to turn the tv on and off to tease him. I am a mean mummy

** V will kill me for including footage of our tv! It is a source of great embarrassment to him that we do not own the latest plasma, LCD, flatscreen, digital, fire-breathing whatever-the-heck piece of tv technology. Meh, whatevs, we don't watch the thing much, why would I want to waste good handbag/clothes/shoes money on electronic equipment? I can barely function on the technology we currently own! :D

Happy Friday all!

snapshots of sunday...

After a long, hard week (for V) and illness (me!), a relaxing and restful day was called for today, to recharge our batteries for the week ahead

We had some lovely kitty snuggles this morning - and as you can see, the kitties stayed in bed for quite some time after we got up!

Inspired by the lovely Heidi, we walked around to the shops and grabbed the Sunday papers, before returning home and cooking a Very Yummy Breakfast...

Soft-boiled eggs (from a local man who has chickens free-range under his olive trees!) Eaten peeled and smooshed on sourdough toast by V...

And in the form of "dippy eggs" with toast soliders for me. Ahhhh, the nostalgia

A nice big bowl of organic, locally-grown berries

And numerous pots of coffee were of course called for!

Later in the morning, we drove down to Killalea for V to have a bit of a surf

I relaxed on the hillside with the papers and my knitting (total grandma moment, I know!)

Starving for lunch by the time we got home!

So in love with my winter wardrobe at the moment - enjoying rediscovering all these little gems that have been packed away during the summer months!

Yes, I am wearing a shirt. As a dress. With leggings. Oh, the horror! Rest assured, I did grill V before we left the house - "Do I look like I forgot to put pants on this morning?" I was told it looked just fine - you be the judge. Leggings as pant definitely does polarise the masses!

Witchery shirt
American Apparel leggings
Country Road leather belt
Sussan beanie
Cotton On sunglasses
Rivers ankle boots
Tiffany&Co rings and necklace

Hope the weekend was good to you all!

relaxing sunny saturday...

The long-overdue weekend has finally arrived! We both had a full-on week, and needed a nice relaxing day to unwind...

Nommy breakfast - ricotta and honey on sourdough toast, with mixed raspberries and strawberries, mmmmmm

Later in the day, V and I went for a drive to the Nan Tien buddhist temple, for a walk in the sunshine and some lunch

Supre skirt
Country Road tee
Supre leopard-print scarf
Rubi booties
Cotton On sunglasses
Tiffany&Co necklace

Delish vegan lunch!

Jasper got a fright from the neighbour's dog and decided to go into hiding this afternoon - after several fruitless minutes of calling him, he finally emerged

Jasper, don't scare me like that! I couldn't find you!

for want of a more profound title...

Friday in Sydney, train travel and mediating a matter which did not settle - ick. Thank goodness for weekends!

I had a lovely breakfast at le pain quotidien on Friday

Who can resist a giant bowl of coffee in the morning?

Delish! And the perfect breakfast to keep me full all morning

No photos of Saturday morning or the usual lee&me brekky because clever clogs me let my iphone battery go flat - had to settle for some outfit shots later at home...

Can you see sneaky Mr Jasper trying to get out the front door? (both our cats are not allowed outdoors)

"But I wants to come out and play!"

Does anyone else find their hair randomly looks its best when the don't wash it for a few days, sleep on it, then finger-comb it? Just me? Okey then

Maiden braids! The perfect messy hair-do for me on a weekend

Lover Charlotte dress
Diana Ferrari booties
Cotton On sunglasses
Jag satchel with vintage silk scarf
Tiffany&Co necklace and rings
OPI Quarter of a Cent-Cherry on nails

Still loving the Lover dress! I predict it getting a LOT of wear this coming winter

In other news, I found my DREAM skirt today! Its pleated, and the lower half is sheer

Because I'm trying to be *good*, I lay-byed - and the jumper too (oh shuddup!)

Currently burning some Glasshouse candles and touching up my pedi (and I may or may not be watching Lord of the Rings on DVD for the billionth time)

friday feasting and summer evenings...

This week has been - interesting. To say the least! A mixture of interesting medical issues (mine and others'), days off work due to illness, being laid off (not me!), getting a new job less than 24 hours later.... Crazy town!

Circumstances provided that V has been at home the past two days, so this morning we had brekky together and then headed into town to visit the weekly farmers markets...

We wandered around the markets before ducking into Swell coffee for a caffeinated pick-me-up (or two!)

Coffee, coffee, coffee! I had about 4 today - bouncing off the walls, people!

After work, V and I headed to the monthly Summer food markets at the beach...

Much to my great delight, one of my fave local restaurants, Michaels Trattoria, had a stall at the markets! Their menu of yummy offerings was definitely superior

Delicious fresh oysters and prawns!

Antipasto platter...

A slow-roasted Tuscan pork roll with crackling, roasted capcisum and rocket...

The magic that is poffertjes!

After dinner, we went for a walk around the harbour - so, so pretty tonight!

Sooooo sunny!

Marcs dress
Tony Bianco sandals
Jag leather tote
Oroton sunglasses
Tiffany&Co rings

Jasper is disdainful of my attempts to play...
(although he is currently purring at me and trying to sit on my lap and give me kisses - smoocher!)

Jade gets up close and personal with the camera...

Happy Friday all!

many thanks for your kind words...

And your thoughts :)
I am overjoyed to announce that Ms Jade is doing fine - better than fine, she is curled up on her favourite (forbidden lol) angora rug near the heater, snoozing and purring.

Turns out it wasn't a kidney stone at all, it was just a bladder infection! They put her under at the vet surgery so they could get a urine sample (poor bubba was holding it since last night 'cause it hurt so much!), and had called me to advise me of this and say they wanted to perform the surgery at the same time, to avoid a double anasthetic. I gave the go-ahead... and then got the call a couple of hours later telling me that they has evacuated her bladder and couldn't feel any stone there so didn't even need to operate. Yay!

She has been given painkillers and a long dose of antibiotics, and special cat food to stop the bladder infection happening again. V and I are so relieved and so thrilled to have our girl home again.

Much love to you all
xoxo

EDIT: I just have to add, I have realised that I think Jade is fairly STONED at the moment haha :D The anasthetic is obviously still wearing off! I gave her a cuddle a moment ago and she was like, Duuuuude why'd you move me? Lol

winter warmers...

One of the best thing about weekends is that I get to cook yummy, complicated meals - and drink lots of wine.

Tonight we partook of a particularly nice shiraz...

Delicious pasta! The photo does not do it justice

I also baked some Anzac biscuits...

And then we ate some!

The kittycats also love weekends - we sleep in and give them lots of cuddles in the morning...

And we lay about on the lounge with them in the evening (more cuddles!)
xoxo
