cosy on a sunday...

Such a gorgeous, sunny morning we had today!

Weather that called for short sleeves and sandals, and a walk along the beach...

Country Road tee
Forever New pants
Tony Bianco sandals
Cotton On sunglasses
Jag leather satchel

Aaand then the sky started to look like this...

So I got changed into this - nothing is cosier than stealing your husband's hoodie, score!

We hibernated inside all afternoon with lunch and multiple cups of tea

Still reading my way through the Harry Potter series - love

Candles are, as always, essential to up the cosiness factor

Seriously obsessed with this mineral water - retails at my local for$1.19 per bottle!

How unbelievably gorgeous is this little felted fairy? Mum bought her for me from New Zealand, and I cannot wait to hang her up! Need to find somewhere the cats cannot get at her...

Beautiful sunset

sunny saturday...

Last week was SO full-on crazy/busy! Both V and I were totally caught up at work, and barely saw each other except for dinner - like two ships passing in the night &c &c

Saturday was such a gorgeous, sunny day! We took ourselves outside to enjoy the weather, and each others' company

We celebrated our Saturday with breakfast at lee&me cafe...

V had the breakfast sandwich - toasted sourdough with red leichester cheese, ham, roast tomatoes and topped with a fried egg

Being the breakfast-repeated that I am, I had the same as last weekend - vanilla bean pancakes with rhubarb and cinnamon compote, sweet ricotta and pistachio and pecan praline

Not quite warm enough yet for dresses without stockings

I'm not usually so on-trend, but after seeing this belt modeled by the lovely Mish, I had to nab me one!

Sportsgirl dress
Country Road cardigan
Sportsgirl belt
Tony Bianco boots
Cotton On sunglasses

We had this wine at our wedding - its a very decent drop for the price range!

You know its going to be a good day when you purchase 6 different types of cheese!

Hope you all enjoyed a relaxing weekend!

sepia-toned saturday...

Isn't today just gorgeous? So sunny and warm! Whatever happened to winter? I must confess, much as I am enjoying it right now, this unseasonally warm weather has me very worried about how hot summer is going to be this year!

I was having a bit of a sepia moment with Instagram this morning, hence all of the following photos being sepia-toned...

My lovely sister R was up from the coast for a visit today, so she and I had breakfast together at lee&me cafe

Home-made lemonade

OMG best breakfast EVAH! Vanilla bean pancakes with rhubarb and cinnamon compote, sweet ricotta, and pistachio and pecan praline

R went all healthy on me and had the granola with fruit and yoghurt

American Apparel wet-look leggings
Eleventh Commandment tunic
Tony Bianco gladiator sandals
Jag leather satchel

This photo is sepia-toned AND washed out - bonus! Instagram does strange things with lighting on occasion (yes Cate, blame the iPhone...)

Freshly coloured hair (in sepia! much brighter and redder in real colour), and freshly cut fringe. No more shetland pony-esque shaggy forelock, hallelujah!

My current fave T2 Tea - so light and flora and delicious!

V is currently watching his nephew's soccer game, so indulged in a couple of crosswords

Jasper is still snuggled up in bed...

Jade proving definitively that cats are, in fact, solar-powered

I'm off to bask in a sunbeam myself, in the back courtyard, with my Harry Potter novel. Happy sunny Saturday!

relaxing winter weekend...

Sometimes, the best weekends are those where you just relax and do nothing much at all!

V and I kicked off the weekend with breakfast at Owls cafe on Saturday...

We shared some fruit with yoghurt and honey

And some nommy sourdough toast with avocado, lemon juice and cracked pepper

V bought me flowers! Always guaranteed to brighten up my day - these smell amaaaazing

Nothing is more cosy than kitteh-snuggles!

Jade kept my legs warm on the couch last night

Today, V and I enjoyed the unseasonal sunshine - gotta love soaking up that vitamin D when its so scarce!

Sass&Bide jeans
Country Road shirt
Wrangler shadows knit
Diana Ferrari ballet flats
Jag leather tote and Oroton silk scarf

I whiled away my Sunday afternoon re-reading the Harry Potter series - starting from the beginning and working my way through, as per my 30 before 30 list!

snapshots of friday...

Sensing a theme happening today!

Kicked off the morning at the local weekly produce markets

Admiring my nice little haul whilst waiting for a well-deserved coffee!

Mmmmmm cappuccino...

Today I rocked a possum-fur collar with my casual Friday outfit (before you all shoot me, it is from New Zealand, where possums are pests and systematically destroying the native flora)

Country Road top and trench coat
Lover denim skirt
Jag leather satchel with Oroton silk scarf
Diana Ferrari booties

Vino-darling!

Any time is snack time - the stuffed olives are from the markets and are divine!

Yummy vegetarian pasta!

Happy Friday all!

obligatory outfit post...

Navy and cream is possibly one of my favourite colour combinations, especially in winter - married with tan leather accessories and its my idea of perfection

Lately I have been loving mixing heavy, warm woolen knits with soft silks or dreamy laces

Sass&Bide top
Witchery silk skirt
Wrangler "shadows" knit
Leona Edmiston tights
Tony Bianco wedges
Jag leather satchel with Oroton scarf
Cotton On sunglasses

Happy Saturday all!
