calling all cooks...

The last day of the Anzac long weekend - I feel like we've spent the entire day cooking and eating. Pretty much an ideal day for me!

V made the most delicious crepes for breakfast - we covered them in sugar and lemon juice and rolled them up and PIGGED OUT French style haha.

I made another batch of Anzac biscuits - much to my great surprise and joy, they turned out perfectly fine. (For some reason I had the idea in my head that Anzac biscuits ought only be made on Anzac day, and that making them the day after would result in the spirit of Anzacs passed descending on my kitchen and destroying my biscuits).

And as it had been so lovely and cold today, I decided to make a massive pot of vegetable and barley soup for dinner...

Mmmmm, so yummy - its the soup equivalent of a big, warm hug.

Hope everyone had a lovely long weekend!

  1. sugar and lemon is my favourite pancake topping by far!!

and i also must add your skin is looking like the very picture of perfection! wow!

  2. Delicious! Mmmm your soup looks great!

    I cooked duck curry tonight

  3. YUM!!! I love lemon and sugar crepes! It's a favourite childhood memory of mine making these with my dad ... What a yummy weekend :)

  4. It must have been the weekend for crepes. I woke up with a hankering for them on Sunday and cooked up a big batch. We ate them with sugar and fresh market lemons.

  5. sugar and lemon juice on crepes = scrumptious!

  6. This entry makes me hungry! I love lemon and sugar on pancakes as well.

Soup is perfect for chilly days. Very cosy :)

Actually, I started watching Blood, Sweat and T-shirts from the thread you started on the Vogue Forums. Just finished watching the last episode which was confronting.
