a delightful degustation...

Last night, V and I celebrated in style at Caveau restaurant - feteing a belated Valentines Day, and his birthday, both of which he missed due to being away for work

Rose&Ruby dress
Tony Bianco heels
Tiffany&Co rings
Georgini bracelet

Despite the insane heat, I was having a (rare) good hair day, so I had to wear it lose, although logic would have dictated I wear it up...

We started the night with a Kir Royale - champagne with cassis, so yummy

And so begun 7 courses of deliciousness, with matched wines - yes, we caught a cab home!

Cured local snapper with mud crab, tomatoes, lemon oil & baby herbs

Steamed scallop mousse with scampi tail, champagne leeks, caramelised fennel & scampi bisque
+
Meerea Park Alexander Munro Semillon, Hunter Valley, NSW, 2005

Barramundi with lobster tortellini, pumpkin fondants & hazelnut emulsion
+
Laroche Petit Chablis, Burgundy, France, 2009

Rolled Guinea fowl leg, parsnip puree, mushrooms & asparagus
+
Hinton Estate Hill Country Pinot Noir, Central Otago, New Zealand, 2007

Australian venison loin, smoked potato puree, swiss chard, baby vegetables & juniper cream
+
Fraser Gallop Cabernet Savignon, Margaret River, WA, 2008

Scorched champagne marshmallow, peach and vanilla salpicon, raspberry jelly and amaretto ice cream
