the night before and the morning after...

Tomorrow morning V heads off on another trip for work - he will be gone for at least 3 days, maybe the full week. I felt a celebration was called for last night, and resolved to whip up something truly delicious for dinner!

I roasted an organic, free-range chook, with loads of winter veges...

What's a romantic dinner without candles? These are natural beeswax candles in a blak+bloom "loop" candleabra. Excuse the plate underneath, I have yet to figure out how to use this without dripping wax everywhere!

A highly drinkable shiraz (hot tip - you can score this stuff for around $17 from Dan Murphys!)

Ohhhhh so yummy! Served on our wedding china, Vera Wang for Wedgewood. You all know my feelings on using the good china everyday! None of this "saving it for special occasions" bollocks in my house - make every day special, I say!

Locally-grown raspberries with a glass of Ice Wine - in our special Vera Wang "Love Knots" wedding toasting flutes. Mmmmmm total food overload by this stage...

I thought this was cute - thousands may disagree!

This morning, V and I were up early and off for breakfast with the inlaws, to celebrate my birthday - gotta love birthday celebrations that go for days!

I am officially in love with this Country Road cashmere jumper - its the softest, warmest, snuggliest jumper, absolutely perfect for winter!

Country Road cashmere jumper
Alice in the Eve pleated maxi skirt
Rubi booties
Cotton On sunglasses
Jag leather satchel with supre scarf
Tiffany&Co rings

Hope the weekend has been kind to you all!

  5. Gorgeous! Love that you use your good plates for everyday use! Such lovely plates too, I remember seeing VW at DJ's and falling head over heels for them. Perhaps I'll have to splurge one day, or get married? lol :) Happy birthday again :)

  8. I love your black and blum candleholder! I really love the fruit bowl that they do as well. I used to work in homewares for about 3 years and lusted after the Wedgwood! When I get nice china I will use it for everyday like you do.
