nz photobomb...

Continuing to bombard you all with manymanymany peekchores of our holidaytimes across the Tasman!

My parents' garden is 11/10 gorgeous at the moment! Impressive, as they are only here about a third of the year in total

These bromeliads put me in mind of the lovely FauxFuchsia...

Enjoying some sunshine and much-needed vitamin D!

Visited the gorgeous Orakanui ecosanctuary - amazing initiative whereby the valley has been fenced in to allow local birdlife to return to the area, including the elusive and endangered takahe, saddleback and kiwi! The cafe is also pretty special...

Amazeballs lunch platter consisting of locally made goodies - the maori bread made fresh on site was a particular highlight

ObSESSed with this stuff! Seriously the bomb

Impressive predator-repelling fence...

Probably you cannot spot him, but there is a cute wee tomtit in this photo - aka a flying golf ball! haha

Another visit to the weekly Otago produce markets was in order last weekend...

Followed by an indulgent brekkie at the neighbouring Peasant bakery - white chocolate and strawberry croissant = nom!

Had a delish vegan potluck housewarming dinner with my cousin W, and his wife M...

M's vegan pad thai was outta this world! Must remember to get the recipe from her...

Berry-tastic!

This vegan sorbet is $20/tub but absolutely, totally worth every cent! Seriously amazing stuff

I have been eating this for lunch pretty much ever since Christmas - still obsessing on the Chrissy ham! mmm

My Dad and V setting up the new letterbox at my parent's house...

I helped! (well, I stuck the numbers on heh)

Many, many hot coffees have been consumed these holidays - we've been having a fairly chilly time of it most days! Not that I'm complaining, I don't tend to fare too well in Sydney's extreme summer weather conditions

This icecream has little weeny cupcakes mixed in! The nommness!

One of the many reasons I love NZ - bargain-basement price fresh berries!

At the Otago Early Settler's Museum - photograph of my late maternal grandfather's great-grandparents, when they first travelled to New Zealand from Scotland! Amazing to see that sort of personal history recorded

Hope the new year has been good to you all thus far!
xoxo

  5. Sounds like you are having a lovely time - Are you down in Dunedin? Oh my god one of my fave things about NZ is how good the berries taste - I had some strawberries when I visited my fam in Canberra and they tasted so chemical it was weird. Anyway, enjoy the rest of your trip! x

    1. Yep, we spent 18 days in Dunedin, had such a fab time! My mum is from there and most of her family still live there, so its generally our favoured spot. NOTHING is as good as NZ berries! x
