gone, burger, gone...

Tonight V and I went out for dinner with my parents and my brother. There's a new gourmet burger restaurant just opened in town, and we wanted to try it out.

The place is called Gone Burger - they have an amazing range of healthy, gourmet burgers, plus beer, wine and cocktails.

The decor and fit-out were really bright and cheery.

I love the black-and-white patterning along the back walls and seats and the orange-and-white lampshades.

Mmmmm, a Lychee Breeze - like a seabreeze (pink grapefruit juice and vodka) but with fresh lychees muddled in. Delicious.

The burgers are HUGE - impossible to eat in any sort of ladylike fashion, but so yummy. This is the Cheesy Burger, covered in sharp cheddar and full of pickles and mustard - beautiful.

Fat Stan and Skinny Lizzy chips - we couldn't chose between the two, so we got one of each.

Overall we really enjoyed our meal - one of the burgers fell a little short of expectations, not being as spicy as expected and not containing the jalepenos listed on the menu, but everything else was just perfect. The staff were cheerful and attentive, the drinks list was impressive, and we loved the music playing in the background (ranging from AC/DC to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers to Powderfinger).

4 stars ouf of 5. Highly recommend!

  2. Yum!

That place reminds me of a chain in London called Gormet Burger Kitchen.

  4. It was seriously soooo yummy - all the beef is Australian Angus, the chicken is organic and hormone-free, they also have barramundi and kangaroo and even Darwin crocodile tail meat burgers!

Mez, it is down the south coast of NSW, in Woonona. Not sure whether it is a chain or an individually owned restaurant. We will definitely be heading back!
