do you go out and eat alone?

Are you comfortable sitting in a cafe or restaurant on your own? I will admit, this is something I would never have done when I was younger...

Now, I am more than happy to sit alone in a quiet little cafe, and enjoy a pot of chai, and read a magazine...

Maybe this makes me a loner - I just think it means I'm happy with my own company. Its kind of peaceful actually.

How is everyone's Monday treating them? Is anyone else already longing for the weekend?

  3. I always try and find a view when I coffee alone which is very very rare these days (often there is a child in tow LOL)

I think its funny when people say they can't go to the movies alone - like you need company to sit in silence and watch a movie - why miss a movie you really want to see

hope you aren't missing V too much

  4. I love doing this!! Except I usually have something to preoccupy myself like you said, a good book/magazine. I don't have that issue of Yen- but Julia Stone looks gorgeous!!
Yep- can't wait for the weekend....:) :)

  5. It sounds lovely. I used to do this more when I was at uni, but not so much anymore... the luxury of time? I would go out for a drink or a quick lunch, but probably not dinner. Unless I was traveling alone.

  6. There's nothing quite like claiming yourself a lovely table in a cafe and enjoying a slow, peaceful coffee with your own thoughts for company. Very pleasant indeed.

  7. Doesn't worry me at all, I am quite happy to sit somewhere by myself, providing I have some to read or there is superior people-watching!!

  8. I adore going out on my own. My bf has his own business so I'm alone most of the time. One of my fav things to do is see a movie by myself, it's so relaxing!

  13. I'm not good at it I must admit. Even with a magazine I find I rush down my drink or meal. I like to talk about food too much and I need someone to talk about it with!

Same goes for movies, I will go watch one myself but I'm always a little disappointed that I don't have someone to discuss it with after.

Maybe I need to work on this.

However I LOVE shopping by myself. Sometimes I wish I had another opinion, but generally I find much better stuff when it is just me doing the shopping.

  16. Am totally longing for the weekend =)

I agree, I use to feel people would think I'm a "loner/ nigel" etc but now, I'm all for some me time. It's amazing how me time re-energises you.

  18. My favourite thing to do on the weekend is go to a gorgeous shopping mall, grab a takeaway latte and wander around (window)shopping and enjoying my own company <3

I really need that alone time on the weekend to chill out and collect my thoughts, or else I go a bit stir crazy.

  19. When I was in Uni I used to love going out on my own, I viewed it as special "me" time. Now I work full-time, there are so many demands on my day that I find it so hard to get time out...Your post has made me miss my days of coffees and lunches for one :)
