on saturdays, we swim...

Normally this would be Dad's job, I know - but while he is away it falls to me to hop into a pool early in the morning and spend half an hour wrangling an overly confident child...

How I found her after my shower this morning, bless! I am completely unsurprised that she said "book" yesterday - my little bookworm.

Little girl adores the water! Dives under, swims on her tummy. Floating on her back? Not so much - the echoes of her screams still ring in my ears 😂

Perfectly acceptable post-pool treat!

Speaking of the man himself, V arrives him today, after a 16-day stint out West. I cannot wait to see him! We have both missed him very much

The tiny one is currently napping, and I am lying under the aircon with a giant mineral water, quietly dying - scared of how December is going to feel!

How is the weekend treating you? Are you all staying cool? Did your little one love swimming lessons or loathe them?
xoxo

  1. I can't wait until I can take my baby to swimming lessons. The baby is due next April so I think it will be ready for lessons around November - perfect timing as it starts to heat up. I am a total water baby myself so I hope the baby shares my love for the water! I also think it's a really important skill to learn in Australia. I didn't learn to swim through school as our instructors at the school swimming program were terrible, so mainly learned off my uncle in Summer holidays and improved myself as a teen and adult.

  2. You make me want my own tiny human Cate!
Evie reading on her own is too cute.

I never properly learned how to swim as a kid, and have entertained the idea of getting adult lessons now. Like Kim said, it's such an important skill in Australia and I hate that I am slightly hydrophobic.

I don't know how you and V do it - spending so long away from each other!

    xx

  3. I have to confess to slothness and not signing the boys up to swimming until they were old enough to go in by themselves. But after 2 years, one is crying all the time .. suddenly he decides he won't go under water. And they still cannot swim. So we stopped everything. I wonder if they will ever be able to swim!
