looking forward...

Back to work next week - seven sleeps to go! I feel excited, and somewhat terrified. Which I assume is fairly normal.

It has been absolutely magical having V on holidays for such a lovely long time - he has another whole week off after this one! This is the longest he has taken off work since E was born. Watching the two of them together just makes me melt.

We have been clocking as much pool and beach time as possible - the kiddo is a massive water baby! A little hesitant of the waves, but when Daddy takes her out she is all smiles.

Sometimes a stormy afternoon is the nicest time at the beach...

I'm not big into New Years resolutions - but I did find a rather nice list of ideas for 2015 "goals", if you will. I like the idea of working towards something tangible and achievable, but as a guide rather than an absolute.

A bad habit I'm going to break ~
Finishing other people's sentences. Sounds trite and silly but I do it ALL the time (a side effect of talking so quickly I think), and it must annoy the shite out of my friends and family.

A destination I'd like to visit ~
I would love to say Fiji! But I know that's not going to happen this year (tentatively planned for 2016!) So I will be realistic and say New Zealand this winter for a spot of tobogganing with the kiddo!

I'm going to work harder at ~
This is tough, but I'm going to say the work/life balance. I haven't been particularly good at this in the past - I tend to throw all my energy at one or the other at any given time. Heading back to work next week, I really want to try and strike that balance in a much healthier way, for Evie's sake more than anything else.

A project I'd like to finish ~
Evelyn's baby book still sits unfinished. I really need to get on top of this, it's becoming embarrassing!

A class I'd like to take ~
A local ballet school is running adult classes this year and I am just itching to get back to the barre! Fingers crossed I can make it happen.

I'd like to spend more time doing ~
Absolutely nothing with my daughter - just sitting and playing and laughing and cuddling and being. Not anything scheduled or organised.

A food I want to eat more of ~
I cannot believe I am saying this, but - fruit! I have no idea how or why, but I have almost stopped eating it lately, not intentionally, it's just happened. And I love fruit! I really don't know who I am anymore. Must try harder.

I want to wear more ~
Lipstick! Haha Especially returning to work, I want to feel more like a grownup. I treated myself to a few nude MAC lipsticks the other day, here's to using them more often!

Here's to a wonderful 2015! Any goals or aims for this year?

xoxo

  3. I have a habit of finishing peoples sentences too! I don't mean to just some people take too long to get to the point! lol. I would highly recommend Fiji. It's beautiful and so are the people.
